Another Big Progressive Jackpot Winner at Slotland Already |

$168,947 win comes just weeks after recent $108,000 jackpot
 It's only been a couple weeks since Slotland.com had their last major jackpot winner and their famously regular progressive jackpot has already been hit again, this time for $108,060 (€78,550). Just last month the all-slots-and-video-poker site announced a $168,947 (€123,000) jackpot win.
A player known as MSMIKEY was playing the popular “Jacks or Better” video slot when she struck it rich on her 134th spin that night. MSMIKEY has been a regular player at Slotland.com for almost two years. Although all slots and video poker games on Slotland’s mobile casino site are connected to the same progressive jackpot as their web games, MSMIKEY was playing on her home computer when she got lucky.
The object of the “Jacks or Better” is to obtain the best possible poker hand. On the initial deal, players are dealt five cards face up. They can hold all cards dealt or receive up to five new ones. Hands are ranked according to standard poker hand rankings, although in this game the player must have at least a pair of Jacks to win.

Professional poker player Brian ‘sbrugby’ Townsend has admitted to the practice of multi-accounting at two online poker rooms, Alderney-licensed FullTiltPoker.com and Isle of Man-licensed PokerStars.com.
Multi-accounting involves a player, often assited by friends, registering more than one account with a virtual poker room. The practice can also be done by using more than one computer and allows players to have more than one entrant in a tournament or to play online under a second alias to give them a substantial edge in multi-table competitions.
Townsend created special accounts for when he played with less experienced tables. He didn't want them to know how successful a play he was.
He's been suspended by the online poker rooms and he's paying a big fine. All well and good but I sure don't want to play with him!

 Europe’s biggest poker festival, Poker in the Park, will be in London’s Leicester Square on August 15th-16th, from 4pm - 9pm on Friday 15th and, 10:30am – 6:30pm on the 16th. Those who visit the event will be given a taste of live tournament poker, with a chance to play for glory in one of several free poker tournaments.

APT Philippines Champion David Saab Sets Sights on Macau |

The champion of this year’s inaugural leg of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) , David Saab, is confirmed to attend the next tournament in Macau. Australia-based Saab survived ferocious competition at the final table to win APT Philippines this past June, taking home $280,000 US.

Slotland concludes funding as Malawi community center now self-sustaining
 Now that the school and community center that it built in Malawi is fully self-sustaining, online casino Slotland.com is concluding its funding. “The school that we’ve funded will have a long lasting benefit to the entire community. When questioned about why their donation was so high, especially in comparison to the billion-dollar company PokerStars’ $1-to-$1 donation, the Backgammon Masters CEO responded, “I’m not really sure why they [PokerStars] aren’t investing more in their donation, but it doesn’t really matter as long as they are doing something to help and raise awareness. We feel that it is important to encourage charitable gaming and to make this type of community outreach in the online casino world a common occurrence. Some people may be surprised that we are doing this, but we’ve always known that casino owners and players have huge hearts and pockets.”
In addition to their desire to reach out to the earthquake victims, Backgammon Masters’ other connections to China have encouraged its generous donations. They offer a Chinese dice game (also called Perudo) on their website and much of their website traffic comes from the Asian Market.
