The Look and Navigation
The site is very well designed and very clean, save for the huge ad in the middle with a donkey that invites you to "bet your ass". It's quite clever, and really, I'm laughing right now. Really. It's that funny. In fact, I'm laughing "my ass off." Get it? Hardy har har. Somebody shoot me.
Besides its failed attempt at comedy, the site has other failings, especially the speed of the site. On occasion, the site even crashed while trying to do a simple login. And by one occasion, I mean practically every time.
Deposits/Withdrawals
As with their sister site, , ' primary mode of deposits and withdrawals is via NETeller. I would like to provide with you more information, but the site just crashed on me. Again.
Betting Types
Basically, the foundation of betting peer to peer is to find someone or a group of people to collectively take your bet. As long as the amounts match up, you will have action. The commission is 2 to 5% on winning wagers only, and therefore value wise it's slightly better than the 10% juice you'll get on most standard wagers. In addition, you can also bet in running odds and take advantage of anyone who is in full panic after his team gives up one score.
The disadvantage of the peer to peer wagering is no one might take you up on your bet. However, it's not as if you couldn't place a wager with another conventional sportsbook if you like a certain team. The best way to use is when you want to adjust a line to your specifications. For instance, if the Cardinals are getting 14 points and you think they can cover ten, you can basically set the line and collect a premium when that pessimistic Packers fan in Wisconsin takes your bet. This is something you can't do with a normal sportsbook, which only allows you to buy points, not sell.
Bonuses and Promotions
There are no bonuses. After all, it's a betting exchange and why would the sportsbook give you money to wager if you're not wagering against the house? It would be highly illogical. That means stupid.
Customer Service
For having such a complicated service tool, the actual customer service section is surprisingly poor. They have what basically amounts to a help section and an email. I understand that most of the transactions don't involve the house, but with this site questions and problems are certain to arise.
User Reviews
The message boards are conflicted as to the benefits of a peer to peer betting system. The main problem being if no one takes your bet, you are left with nothing. However, generally experienced users favor the peer to peer system as a good hedging tool for experienced bettors.
Rating
Love the concept. The fact that you can effectively be the bookie and set the line alone warrants a 3 star Modest Mouse award, for their creativity and originality. You can also use it as a good tool to hedge your bets and in some cases get more attractive odds. I would have given them four, but their site is prone to crash and is extreeeeeeeemly slooooooooooooow. I'm still trying to log on. |
